The integration of communication strategies and digital technologies has become increasingly critical in accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, academic discourse has largely treated these domains as separate silos, resulting in fragmented understanding and suboptimal implementation. This study aims to bridge this gap by mapping the intersection of communication, digitalization, and SDGs through a systematic literature review (SLR) based on the PRISMA 2020 protocol, enriched with bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer and AI-based insights from SciSpace. Based on 78 selected articles published between 2021 and 2025, the study identifies five thematic clusters: digital transformation, communication and media, digital competence, social innovation, and governance. Findings reveal a growing trend toward participatory digital communication models, yet highlight the absence of a comprehensive integrative framework. To address this, the study proposes the Integrated Digital Communication for Sustainable Development (IDC-SD) Model, which synergizes inclusive digital communication, sustainable technology transformation, and SDGs orientation. This model offers both theoretical advancement and practical implications for policymakers, researchers, and development actors in the Global South, particularly in the Indonesian context. The study contributes to bridging the knowledge gap and advancing a holistic, adaptive approach to sustainable development in the digital era.
