Jurnal Salingka Nagari is a peer-reviewed journal and scientific journal devoted to the publication of original papers published by Universitas Negeri Padang. Since 2021, this journal has become an open-access peer-reviewed online journal of economics and education studies published by Universitas Negeri Padang. This journal is published two times a year in an online version.

Articles can be from any research and community development in the following areas:

• Learning innovations in social sciences
• Improving learning materials in social sciences
• Teaching and learning strategies in social sciences
• Educational evaluations in the fields of social sciences
• Economics, business, accounting, social sciences
• Office administration,
• Cooperative studies. 

 

Authorship Criteria

Jurnal Salingka Nagari (JSN) is committed to promoting transparency, academic integrity, accountability, and fairness in scholarly publishing. Authorship recognizes the intellectual contributions of individuals involved in research and establishes their responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of published work.

The journal's authorship policy is guided by the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), adapted to research in social sciences, education, economics, business, applied research, community service, and other disciplines within the journal's scope.

1. Who Qualifies as an Author

An individual may be listed as an author only if they meet all four of the following criteria:

1. Substantial Contribution. The individual has made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of research data, scholarly materials, or other relevant sources.

2. Manuscript Preparation or Critical Revision. The individual has participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content, including theoretical arguments, methodological explanations, research findings, or scholarly interpretations.

3. Final Approval. The individual has reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript to be submitted for publication.

4. Accountability. The individual agrees to be accountable for all aspects of the work and to ensure that questions concerning the accuracy or integrity of any part of the research are appropriately investigated and resolved.

All authors must meet these criteria and take responsibility for their contributions to the published research.

2. Contributors Who Do Not Meet the Authorship Criteria

Individuals who contribute to a research project but do not meet all four authorship criteria should not be listed as authors. Their contributions may instead be recognized in the Acknowledgments section, with their permission.

Examples of contributions that do not independently qualify an individual for authorship include:

• Providing financial support, research grants, or institutional resources.

• General academic supervision or administrative assistance without substantial intellectual involvement.

• Proofreading, translation, language editing, or formatting assistance.

• Providing technical assistance with data collection, data entry, transcription, or research documentation.

• Facilitating access to research participants, educational institutions, community organizations, or research locations.

• Providing laboratory facilities, equipment, or logistical support without substantial intellectual contributions.

Such contributions should be acknowledged appropriately to ensure transparency and recognition of the individuals involved.

3. Corresponding Author

The corresponding author serves as the primary contact between the authors and the editorial office of Jurnal Salingka Nagari throughout the manuscript submission, peer review, revision, publication, and post-publication processes.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that:

• All listed co-authors meet the journal's authorship criteria and have made appropriate intellectual contributions.

• All eligible contributors are included as authors, and individuals who do not meet the authorship criteria are not listed.

• All co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript before submission.

• The order of authorship has been discussed and agreed upon by all authors.

• The manuscript complies with the journal's submission requirements, publication ethics, originality standards, and copyright provisions.

• All required declarations, including conflicts of interest, funding information, and other relevant disclosures, are complete and accurate.

• Editorial correspondence and requests for revision are communicated appropriately to all co-authors.

• All authors are informed of significant editorial decisions and any post-publication issues affecting the article.

The corresponding author does not automatically receive greater authorship credit or authority over the intellectual contributions of other authors.

4. Order of Authors

The order of authorship must be determined through mutual agreement among all authors before manuscript submission.

The authorship order should appropriately reflect the nature and extent of each author's contribution to the research and manuscript preparation, taking into account the conventions of the relevant academic discipline.

Any disagreements concerning authorship order should be resolved among the contributors before the manuscript is submitted.

The editorial team does not determine authorship order or resolve disputes over the relative contributions of authors. Where necessary, authorship disputes may be referred to the relevant institutions for further evaluation.

5. Changes to Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission must be submitted to the editorial office in writing.

The request must include:

• A clear explanation of the reasons for the proposed authorship change.

• A description of the contributions of any author being added or removed.

• Written agreement from all listed authors, including any individual whose name is proposed to be added or removed.

• Updated author information and declarations, where applicable.

The Editor-in-Chief or a designated editor will evaluate the request to determine whether the proposed change is consistent with the journal's authorship policy and publication ethics standards.

Changes to authorship after manuscript acceptance are generally discouraged and will be considered only in exceptional circumstances supported by adequate justification and written agreement from all relevant parties.

If an unresolved authorship dispute arises, the editorial team may suspend manuscript processing until the matter has been appropriately addressed.

Any proposed changes to authorship after publication will be assessed in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and Editorial Policies, including its procedures for post-publication corrections.

6. Inappropriate Authorship Practices

Jurnal Salingka Nagari does not tolerate unethical or misleading authorship practices.

The following practices are prohibited:

a. Ghost Authorship

Omitting an individual who has made a substantial intellectual contribution and meets the journal's authorship criteria.

b. Gift or Honorary Authorship

Listing an individual as an author despite the absence of a qualifying intellectual contribution, including authorship granted solely because of academic position, institutional authority, seniority, financial support, or personal relationships.

c. Guest Authorship

Adding an individual, particularly a prominent academic or researcher, primarily to increase the perceived credibility of a manuscript or improve its chances of acceptance without meeting the authorship criteria.

d. Unauthorized Authorship

Including an individual's name without their knowledge, consent, or approval of the submitted manuscript.

e. Misrepresentation of Contributions

Providing false or misleading information concerning an author's involvement in the research, manuscript preparation, or publication process.

Suspected authorship misconduct will be evaluated in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and Editorial Policies and relevant COPE guidance.

Depending on the nature and seriousness of the case, editorial actions may include requesting clarification, requiring authorship corrections, suspending manuscript processing, rejecting the manuscript, or taking appropriate post-publication action.

Where necessary, unresolved or serious cases may be referred to the relevant institutions for investigation.

7. Use of Artificial Intelligence in Authorship

Artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including generative AI systems and large language models, cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Salingka Nagari.

AI systems cannot independently fulfill the responsibilities associated with authorship, including approving the final manuscript, accepting accountability for the research, or responding to questions concerning research integrity.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, reliability, and ethical compliance of all manuscript content, regardless of whether AI-assisted tools have been used.

When AI tools are used to generate or substantially modify text, assist with data analysis, develop research materials, or perform other substantive tasks related to the manuscript, authors must disclose their use transparently.

Such disclosure should identify the AI tool used, describe its purpose, and explain the extent of its involvement in the research or manuscript preparation.

AI-generated information, references, citations, analyses, and other content must be carefully verified by the authors before submission.

The use of AI tools does not exempt authors from complying with the journal's policies on originality, plagiarism, research integrity, confidentiality, and academic accountability.

8. Author Identity and Institutional Affiliation

All authors must provide accurate and complete identification information when submitting a manuscript to Jurnal Salingka Nagari.

The required information includes:

• Full name of each author.

• Current institutional affiliation, including department, faculty, university, or relevant organization.

• Institutional address and country.

• Valid email address for each author.

• Identification of the corresponding author and their contact information.

Authors are strongly encouraged to provide an ORCID iD to support accurate author identification, distinguish researchers with similar names, and maintain reliable scholarly records.

Author names, institutional affiliations, and other identifying information must be presented consistently across the manuscript, submission metadata, and any required publication documents.

Any changes to author identity or institutional affiliation during the editorial process should be promptly communicated to the editorial office.

The journal reserves the right to request clarification or supporting documentation when necessary to verify author identity, affiliation, or authorship information.
